We are pleased to share updates on Pavel Sokolowski from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology and his 3-month internship at 3D Center that is focused on improving the surface properties of 3D printed metal parts by application of thermally sprayed coatings. 

Various AM processes will be considered, to see how the subsurface properties of parts differ between manufacturing technologies, and how they affect post processing done by thermal spraying. The work is progressing according to the training plan.

Pawel is gaining practical experience in metal-based AM processes as well as taking part in different everyday duties of the AM company's life. Last but not least, the very first samples were manufactured together by means of Laser Powder Bed Fusion technology. More news and samples soon!
