We are excited to announce that our ERA Talent, Pawel Sokolowski, has started his collaboration with Castolin through the CLiCAM project.
Castolin Eutectic is a global leader in surface engineering for wear protection & repair, as well as joining processes, specializing in welding and brazing. With decades of experience, Castolin provides innovative solutions to extend the lifespan of various industrial components operating in various industry sectors, including aerospace, energy, and heavy manufacturing.
One of the important focuses of Castolin branch, located in Gliwice, Poland, is hardfacing and surfacing. Service and production of devices, used for plasma-transferred arc technology, called GAP, is located here. Pawel's secondment in Castolin will be mainly associated with analyses into microstructure of generatively manufactured deposits by plasma transfer arc. The joint effort is aimed at determining whether such technology can be considered useful in the field of additive manufacturing.
We wish Pawel and Castolin good luck in their joint efforts and we will share more information on this project in coming months!
