ERA Talent Edgar Montufar and Lithoz Materials Engineers develop an exciting innovation in bone implant technology!

Ten years ago, ERA Talent Edgar Montufar, alongside his colleagues at the Technical University of Catalunya, pioneered the extrusion-based additive manufacturing of self-hardening hydroxyapatite scaffolds.

Now, Edgar is joining forces with the expert Materials Engineering team at Lithoz to push the boundaries even further. They are developing a non-toxic, self-hardening hydroxyapatite slurry that is perfect for lithography-based additive manufacturing. 🧪✨

This cutting-edge material eliminates the need for traditional debinding and sintering processes, opening new horizons for the creation of personalized bone implants. With a biomimetic hydroxyapatite microstructure that forms at near-room temperature, these new implants promise enhanced osteoconductive and osteoinductive properties. 🌟

Stay tuned as CLiCAM continues to explore the future of advanced bone repair technologies! 🦴💡
