Invitation: Series of online lectures on “Glass: From History to the Future”

In November and December, we are happy to invite you to another series of engaging lectures that will be given by Assoc. Prof. Dana Rohanová, from the University of Chemistry and Technology (UCT) in Prague.

Prof. Rohanová has long been studying the corrosion and mineralization of bioactive glasses and ceramics in vitro in various media, as well as the functionalization of inert materials, and she has a special interest in archaeological glasses.

Lectures Schedule:

  • November 8, Friday | 09:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Topic: Unexpected role of TRIS buffer in in-vitro assays: Impact on bioactive glass and glass-ceramics implants
  • November 20, Wednesday | 02:00 p.m. – 03:00 p.m.
Topic: Acellular immersion tests on highly reactive materials - influence of the medium on ion release and apatite formation
  • December 5, Thursday | 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Topic: Titanium substrates and the ways how to change their inert properties
  • December 12, Thursday | 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
    Topic: The (hi)story of glass

These events are organized as a part of the Visiting Scientist programme under the Horizon 2020 project “FunGlass” – grant agreement Nº739566. Project partners including CLiCAM are invited to join lectures online via MS Teams.
