ERA Talents - Ladislav Čelko and Amirhossein Pakseresht - attended the trainings of two essential industrial leadership courses on (i) Research Projects Management, led by the head of thermal spray research centre Dr. Richard Trache, and (ii) Intellectual Property Rights Management, led by the head of Intellectual property department Dr. Paul Barbić in the Treibacher Industrie AG.

The point of view on industrial projects management slightly differs compared to the projects we are experienced in the Czech and Slovak academia environments. There are some important protocols and control mechanisms implemented to judge the projects’ priorities and to enhance the chances for commercial and technical success of the new product. We also learned about the Austrian Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) system and discussed many essential areas raising from the academia and industry requirements. Such were for example: when is the correct time to apply for the IPR protection, how to prepare the IPR proposal, which national and international schemes to use to protect the know-how, when to start the licence negotiation process, how to negotiate on the licence with the industrial partners, and many others.
