We are excited to welcome the 4th CLiCAM ERA talent Tomáš Tesař from the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences to Treibacher Industrie AG, for a six-month training program at the state-of-the-art Thermal Spray Centre.

Treibacher’s expertise in advanced manufacturing and analytical tools, including a comprehensive suite of plasma spray technologies and testing capabilities, will provide Tomáš a unique opportunity for hands-on experience and in-depth learning. The training will focus on the development and optimization of next-generation materials, specifically plasma-sprayed ceramic coating systems such as Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs).

Under the supervision of his Treibacher colleagues Richard Trache, Karl Körner, and Christian Hebenstreit, this immersive experience will allow Tomáš to delve into the intricacies of plasma spray processes, exploring the relationship between process parameters and coating properties. To broaden the Talent’s skillset, the training will also encompass workshops and meetings covering key industrial practices, including project management, intellectual property rights, and technology transfer. This holistic approach will merge academic learning with practical industrial application, fostering a deeper understanding of product-based development and promoting stronger EU academia-industry collaboration.
