CLiCAM supported secondments & trainings advance!

We are happy to present a flash review of updates from our ERA talents, reporting from their secondments and practical trainings at our partners!

From August onward, CLiCAM ERA talent Anusha Sekar has  joined the Thermal Spray Center at TREIBACHER Industrie AG. Over the next three months, she will focus on the deposition of High Entropy Ceramics . In addition to experimental work, she  will also concentrate on computational research involving simulation techniques to assess and predict optimized  coating properties for spray parameter development.

Meanwhile in Poland, our talent Mokhtar Mahmoud advances with his practical secondment at Politechnika Wrocławska. In August, Mokhtar made significant progress in applying ANSYS software to his research and presents first, preliminary results of fluid dynamics simulations now. His study explores fluid flow in a membrane filter with conical pores, aimed at removing suspended particles and other contaminants. The applied pressure ranged from 0.5 to 5 bar. Due to the very small outlet pore size and pressure variations, localized turbulence and kinetic instabilities were observed. Mokhtar looks forward to applying different models with submicron pore sizes and conducting further fluid dynamics simulations.

We are grateful to our talents for recent updates and wish them both much perseverance and success in further research!
