On December 10–11, 2024, the CEITEC BUT CLiCAM project team hosted a Benchmarking Site Visit, bringing together academic and industrial partners to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and explore advancements in research and innovation.
The event, attended by 29 participants from three countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland) and five institutions, focused on key topics in research project management, interdisciplinary teamwork, and advanced materials development.
The two-day program featured a series of interactive sessions designed to provide valuable insights and practical knowledge:
Tech Transfer and IPR Protection: An overview of the support offered by the JIC (South Moravian Innovation Centre) to researchers and academic institutions, focusing on technology transfer and intellectual property rights.
Writing Excellence in Research: Best practices and key pitfalls to avoid in crafting outstanding scientific articles and research project proposals.
Budget Planning and Financial Management: Essential tips for composing a comprehensive research budget and effectively managing project finances.
Leadership in Research: A compelling talk by Assoc. Prof. Ladislav Čelko, PhD., addressing leadership challenges, building interdisciplinary teams, and motivating team members.

The event also provided opportunities for networking and informal exchanges. Attendees enjoyed a guided visit to Brno’s charming city center, including a stop at the lively Christmas market, fostering connections in a relaxed setting.
Participants were invited to optional tours of CEITEC BUT’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the High-Performance Materials and Coatings for Industry research group. Highlights included a demonstration of the unique plasma spray line, which serves as a cutting-edge tool for developing advanced applications.
Throughout the visit, participants discussed potential collaborative research opportunities and planned future actions related to the CLiCAM project. The event underscored the importance of international cooperation in driving innovation and advancing scientific progress.
The CEITEC BUT team eagerly anticipates the next phase of the project and looks forward to hosting a follow-up benchmarking visit at Politechnika Wrocławska!
